‘time lapse II’. Exhibition at Hertford House
time : the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present and future regarded as a whole (Oxford Dictionary) the measured or measurable period during which an action, process or condition exists or continues (Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary) My preoccupation with the concept of time has led me to re examine my practice- viewing previous […]
Photo of the day
Still playing with the idea of photo collage for the Art Trail in April. Decided to compile my own collage and play with the individual images before I take the plunge and order a more professional printed collage. Very time consuming capturing these stills from the time lapse but good thinking time too………. this is […]
Landscapes are my thing
so many to choose from and this is just up to 2017. Mostly images are from St Ives in Cornwall- my most favourite holiday destination- I would say my most favourite place in the world, but that has to be where my family is- which is Hertfordshire. If I could reside in two places at […]
Family and friends, film and fun – It’s February. Monday blues-POTD challenge
An eventful weekend with Family and friends, film and fun, fine tuning video and photos for Art Trail in April. I have an idea that I’m working on to use the time lapse in several ways to illustrate transience ……..this is what I have so far, and still tweaking the video.
Circles
circles are tricky things so many connotations. I surprised myself when scrolling through my library to find I have very few images of them. Photo A Day Challenge: Circles & Curves
Amazing skies
I experienced the most amazing skies on new years day, walking back from Hertford to Dicker Mill, where my studio is located. The sky was grey/black and the sun shone on the tree tops making them seemingly ablaze. Hartham Common Hertford Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo Thursday photo prompt: Renewal #writephoto

Summer Holidays and New Work – it’s sizzling!
Just returned home from a most amazing break spent at The Lizard in Cornwall. Overlooking Church Cove where the tide washed gently in and out and fishing boats passed by, children swam and wildlife did what wildlife does, so relaxing and at the same time inspiring. Watching the ebb and flow of life in such […]

Weekly photo challenge : My favourite place
My favourite place to be is by the sea- no surprises there but more specifically along the northerly Cornish coastline at Gwithian Towans where Godrevy Lighthouse looks out across to the open sea in one direction and St Ives Bay inland. The crumbly coastline is being slowly eroded away by stormy seas and every visit […]
tide and time – work in progress
A recent visit to Cornwall has injected new quiet energy into my project. The snow and powerful tides limited access to the outdoors and my visit was brief. Primarily a two day workshop with a day either side to explore the coastline. The workshop further explored chance operation and abstraction, which factor quite strongly in […]
Worn by tide and time……
My current project is an investigation into hag stones and beach pebbles generally, how they form, what creates their weathered appearance and how time and tides have worn them down and round and created their fascinating labyrinths, and unique surfaces. These are a few of the initial images- where I go from here is anyone’s guess……. […]
