URBAN

Urban-Impossible Landscapes Series Mixed Media 39″ x 59″

Caryl’s recent mixed media works are inspired by landscape and man made elements,  abstracted and juxtaposed to create her own imaginary ‘impossible landscapes’ inspired by and in response to panoramic distorted images of the land and sea of the East Coat and West Country.

For many years, she has documented her experiences in the landscape, which have evolved into a visual diary, a journal, which records and reflects  everyday journeys. Travelling pathways often familiar and occasionally unknown, her work ackowledges an appreciation and acceptance of the transient nature of our world and its simple integrity, with a beauty that lies in imperfection and impermanence.

Caryl is a fellow of Digswell Arts located at The Forge Digswell Hertfordshire.

Caryl is a member of The Wynd Artists Gallery  Cooperative located at The Wynd in Letchworth Hertfordshire.

  3. Caryl, I continue to be humbled by the wonderful variety of people who choose to follow Learning from Dogs. So thank you! Years ago your part of the world was very familiar to me. Worked in Stevenage, then Welwyn Garden City, had an Uncle and Aunt who lived in Hatfield, and more. Best wishes and keep up your amazingly creative work.
