Mariana Canet’s ‘Abstract 18′ photograph reflect and refract the reality. The light waves bend as they pass into different mediums in which the energy travels at a distinct speed, causing refraction. In her photos the real is reflected at the same time reproduced, distorted, diverted, fold back on itself. In this way, Mariana Canet shows in each of the photos the reality in different forms, as the real diversifies itself. The artist leaves the reflection open if what we see is in fact the reality.
