smallprint:big impression is an international showcase of contemporary fine art printmaking, presenting artists from across the UK and as far afield as the US and New Zealand.

A diverse range of printmaking techniques are represented, including etching, lithography, and relief work as well as digital prints. The unique characteristic of the exhibition is the small scale of the prints with all works in a small scale with no image size larger than 100 square cms.

The exhibition features 150 pieces by over 100 artists. The chosen works were selected by; Anne Desmet, Printmaker and Editor of Printmaking Today, Craig Ashley, Producer of Visual Arts at the mac, Birmingham and Irena Czapska, Printmaker and Manager at Spike Print Studio, Bristol.

The exhibition is touring five Midlands venues throughout 2011 and is available to view online.

Rufford Craft Centre, North Nottinghamshire – Rufford Craft Centre boasts a picturesque location at the heart of the 150 acre Rufford Abbey Country Park. The Craft Centre Gallery has a long history of high quality exhibitions.

3 September to 9 October

gallerytop, Nr Matlock, Derbyshire – located in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District, gallerytop exhibits contemporary art by emerging and established artists.

22 October to 4 December

mac, Birmingham – the recently refurbished Midlands Art Centre, has been built to meet the needs of both artists and communities across the Midlands.
